How did your Love Story begin?

We met in downtown Lexington through a mutual friend, nothing rom-com here! To us, the most important part of a relationship is friendship and we are both so lucky to say “I married my best friend”!

Tell us all about the proposal!

On the last day of a vacation in Mexico (it may have happened earlier in the week if i hadn’t ruined an attempt by sleeping in!), we went for a moonlit walk on the beach and Anthony proposed!

What was your favorite part of the engagement and planning process?

I loved looking at photos of different weddings and seeing the personal touches in each and every one, it helped me to reflect on what would be important to us in our wedding. The experience of all the planners and vendors was so helpful in setting any anxiety that i had about the reception especially; I had every confidence in the team at McHale’s to pull it off and they did!!

What was the most challenging experience while planning?

We planned our wedding in about 4 months and did not anticipate the hundreds of tiny details that we would have to choose between, but everything came together perfectly in the end!

Do you have any advice for engaged couples planning their wedding?

Look for dates outside the peak season – I never considered a winter wedding but having our wedding in January opened up so many windows for us with discounts and vendor availability, it was definitely worth risking snow! (p.s. *it ended up being 70 degrees and raining*)

Tell us about your experience working with us!

From the beginning I had no doubt that no matter how indecisive I was, the team at McHale’s would find a way to make our wedding beautiful and timeless! For brides like me who did not have a clear-cut vision other than “I want it to be pretty”, McHale’s experience and skilled staff are perfect – they helped guide me through the big decisions and added tips for the little things that I would never have considered. At the reception, we felt that we could really relax and enjoy the evening because the staff showed us from the beginning that they had every detail under control.
