How did the two of you meet?
We met through a mutual friend after both moving to the Hyde Park area. Nic had recently bought and renovated a house in Hyde Park and happened to move in the same weekend that Spring was moving into a house nearby with a couple of friends. After a full day of moving and unpacking, Spring and her roommates wanted to celebrate their new place and invited a few friends over. One friend brought a co-worker who had also just moved to the area, and that co-worker was Nic. As the night went on, Spring and Nic hit it off and the rest is history.
How did the proposal take place?
The proposal happened while visiting Spring's sister in Chicago, on a scenic walk near the Alder Planetarium. While posing for a picture with the Chicago skyline, Nic dropped down on one knee and popped the question and Spring said "Yes!"
What did you do to make your wedding day unique and special to the two of you?
We wanted our wedding day to be stress free so we could enjoy every minute of it and focus on celebrating with all of our friends and family. So, we tried to keep it simple, stay organized and made all decisions together.
What has been the most challenging experience throughout this process and do you have any advice for future brides?
There are a lot of decisions to make throughout the process and even more options to choose from. Rely on recommendations and reviews.
How did you go about selecting vendors?
We did a lot of research online and took as many recommendations as we could get from other engaged/married couples and vendors in the industry.
