Chef Chris Weist Wows Foodies at Special Tasting

Chef Chris Weist at New Riff

A large and hungry audience of foodies and fans all had front row seats last night for a truly delicious performance by Chef Chris Weist of McHale’s Catering. 

On Monday December 8, Chef Weist was the specially-selected Chef to Meet at New Riff’s demonstration kitchen.  The audience delighted (and even salivated a little) as Chef Weist offered instruction on a delectable holiday menu.

Basing his menu on holiday favorites, along with splashes of OK Bourbon, Chef Weist offered everyone friendly and often humorous instruction as he prepared a delicious and visually stunning winter menu.

The Menu

Bourbon Cured Salmon

  • OKI Bourbon Cider with Cinnamon Apple Chip
  • Bourbon Cured Salmon, Winter Greens, Citrus, Hearts of Palm
  • Pomegranate Glazed Pork Roast, White Cheddar Polenta
  • Ricotta Torte, Amoretti and Toasted Almonds

The intimate seating and up-close camera views allowed everyone a seat at the Chef’s Table. Chef offered the audience hints and tips of value to even the most casual chef-wannabes.  As he masterfully prepared the delicious menu, guests enjoyed a carefully paired tasting menu. His fans even got to take home the recipes that Chef Weist prepared. 

There was no doubt that a few soon-to-be brides and event planners in the audience will make some special menu requests of the night from the masterful Chef, and he certainly demonstrated why he was voted the Best Chef in Northern Kentucky
